r) do away with legal restrictions on family planning so as to reduce maternal mortality (articles 23, 24 and 6 ICCPR)

c) existence of dual legal system of civil law and customary law, which results in continuing discrimination against women, particularly in field of marriage and family relations
c) lack of legislation regulating customary marriages and other aspects of family law that discriminate against women, including in respect of polygamy, inheritance and child custody, and efforts to adopt legislation regulating customary marriages have so far not been successful

r) take comprehensive measures and allocate sufficient funds to combat HIV/AIDS, take strong preventive measures, including education and awareness-raising, and ensure that women and girls infected with HIV/AIDS are not discriminated against and are given appropriate assistance and medical treatment

r) continue expanding access to health services, in particular in rural areas, and increase competence of health personnel
r) strengthen implementation and coordination of existing health policies and programmes, in particular National Action Plan (1992-2000), Expanded Programme of Immunization, and Drinking Water and Environmental Health programmes
r) facilitate greater access to primary health services; continue to reduce incidence of maternal, child and infant mortality; prevent and combat malnutrition, especially amongst vulnerable and disadvantaged groups of children; and promote proper breastfeeding practices
r) ensure provision of adequate financial and human resources for effective implementation of health programmes

in light of Standard Rules on Equalization of Opportunities for Persons with Disabilities and of CRC's recommendations adopted at its day of general discussion on rights of children with disabilities
r) take effective measures to collect adequate and disaggregated data on children with disabilities and use such data to establish comprehensive policy and appropriate programmes and ensure that children's rights are adequately integrated into them
r) undertake all necessary measures to combat discriminatory attitudes towards children with disabilities, particularly amongst children and parents, and promote their participation in all aspects of social and cultural life
r) formulate strategy that includes appropriate teacher training, to ensure that all children with disabilities have access to education and, wherever possible, that they are integrated into mainstream education system
r) undertake awareness-raising campaigns to sensitize public, and parents in particular, about rights and special needs of children with disabilities
r) allocate further resources for special education, including vocational training, and for support given to families of children with disabilities
r) seek technical cooperation for training of professional staff working with and for children with disabilities from, inter alia, UNICEF and WHO
